Deborah L. “Debbie” Hammer, 65, of Centreville, MD, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
Born on August 23, 1946 in Chestertown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Edward and Dorthea Lamont (Thompson) Kelley.
Debbie as she was affectionately known by many, worked for Dr. Susan K. Ross for 20 years, retiring in 2010. From 1976-1997 she was a school bus driver in Kent County.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rock Hall.
Debbie enjoyed country line dancing, reading, bicycling, crabbing, traveling and more importantly, loved spending time and being with her family. Her warm smile and kind words will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Coleman I, a son, Matthew Coleman and a daughter, Barbara Coleman.
She leaves many wonderful and cherished memories to her loving husband of 14 years, David W. Hammer; a daughter, Janet Tucker of Crumpton; a son, Albert Coleman II and his wife, Kristyn of Felton, DE; five grandsons, Matt Tucker, Spencer Coleman, Jimmy, Justin and Joey Peacock; three granddaughters, Samantha Kamm and her husband, Frank, Kimberly Coleman and Allie Tucker; one great-grandson, Caiden Neff; a brother, David Kelley, Sr. and his wife, Ellen of Chestertown; two sisters, Nancy Walls of Chestertown and Debbie’s twin, Dottie Mooday of Still Pond, as well as many dear friends.
Memorial services will be held 3 pm on Saturday, May 26 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 6065 Rock Hall Road, Rock Hall, MD, where friends may visit with Debbie’s family from 1-3 pm. Interment will be private.
