Christopher B. “Spanky” Gillespie, 37, of Middletown, DE passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 2, 2012.

Born on February 27, 1975 in Philadelphia, PA, he is the son of Bruce Gillespie and Anne (Perry) Giles.

Spanky, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed children and especially loved spending time with his two children, as well as, his niece and nephew.

Chris leaves many wonderful and fond memories to his mother, Anne Giles and her husband, Bill; father, Bruce Gillespie and his wife, Sharon; his two special children, Kayla Lewis and Andrew Gillespie; a sister, Jennifer Richardson and her husband, Paul and their children, Abby and Alex, who loved Uncle Spanky dearly and a brother, Sean Gillespie.

Memorial Mass will be held 12 noon on Friday, June 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 371 E. Main Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with Chris’ family one hour prior. Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, DE at a later date.
