Fay Jean Reynolds, of Townsend, DE passed away peacefully in her home on July 3, 2012. She was 62. Born on May 21, 1950, she was the daughter of the late James C. Reynolds, Jr. and Gladys Insolo Reynolds of Townsend, DE.
Fay attended the John Charlton School in Dover, after which she worked at Kent Sussex Industries in Milford, DE until 2005. She participated in the Delaware Special Olympics, spent weeks each summer at Camp Fairlee Manor in Chestertown, MD, where she loved swimming, crafts and horseback riding. She loved to “eat out,” visit with her siblings, nieces and nephews, celebrate Christmas, attend church, play cards, dance, bowl, watch Lawrence Welk and the Three Stooges on TV, and sit quietly writing in her book. She attended Easter Seals, the Citizens for Community Living day programs in Dover and Friendship United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by a favorite brother-in-law, Robert Wheeler and a nephew, Charles Staats, Jr.
She will be sadly missed by her brother with whom she lived, James C. Reynolds III (Marie); two sisters, Shirley Staats (Charles) of Smyrna and Mary Lou Wheeler Heininger (Joe) of Blackbird; two brothers, Rodney A. Reynolds (Deloris) and Allen P. Reynolds (Debbie) of Smyrna, DE and many nieces and nephews.
The family expresses many thanks to Reverend Ruthann Simpson and our church family for their prayful support. We thank the team from Delaware Hospice, Inc. most especially, Katryn Cannedy, RN for her dedication to Fay.
To celebrate Fay’s life, friends are invited to visit with her family from 7-9 pm on Wednesday evening, July 11 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
