Daniel E. “Dan” Levinsky, 29, of Middletown, DE passed away suddenly early on the morning of Sunday, April 28, 2013.
Born on July 7, 1983 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, he was the son of Dawn (Murano) McCarty and Stephen R. Levinsky.
He attended Jackson Memorial High School in Jackson, NJ and received his plumbing certification from Del Castle Vocational Technical High School.
Most recently, Dan worked for Mill Creek Construction in West Chester, PA.
With his care free spirit, he lived life to the fullest with a determination to always do things his way. He loved fast cars and enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially with his grandfather. Traveling to the beach on his motorcycle and visiting the casino were a few of his many pleasures. He shared 29 years of joy with his family and many great laughs, especially when he would say, “I needed it”, time and time again.
Turning a personal tragedy into a future of hope for many families, Dan was a Gift of Life donor. Through this gift, his memory will continue to live on throughout the lives of others.
Dan leaves many fond and cherished memories to his mother and step-father, Dawn and Shawn McCarty of Middletown; father and step-mother, Stephen and Debbie Levinsky of Farmingdale, NJ; sister, Jessica Liguori and her husband, Chris, of Toms River, NJ; two brothers, Christopher and Brandon Levinsky both of Middletown; maternal grandparents, Tony and Helen Murano of Little River, SC; paternal grandfather, Herb Levinsky of FL; step-grandmother, Gayle McCarty of Freehold, NJ; niece, Gianna Liguori; nephew and godson, Christopher Liguori; three uncles, Tony and Steven Murano and Jamie Levinsky; aunt, Dee Murano; several cousins, as well as many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm on Thursday, May 2 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with Dan’s family on Wednesday, May 1 from 4:00-9:00 pm and on Thursday, from 12:00-1:00 pm. Interment will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery, near Odessa, DE, where Dan will be laid to rest beside his best friend, Brett.
